1. HISTORY INTRODUCTION - In 1783, the Dutch scientist Von Marúm discovered the Ozone existence
- In 1801, Ciukshank discovered the Ozone while realizing water electrolyse.
- In 1840, Schonbein classified the ozone and gave it the actual name.
- In 1863, Soret scientist discovered that the ozone is made by 3 oxygen atoms.
- M.P Otto determined the physic caracteristics of ozone.
2. WHAT IS OZONE? - Ozone is a molecule made by 3 oxygen atoms O3. Actually, this is one allotropic oxygen variety.
- We can find the ozone in the natural environment; It's an air component (0,0000021% in proportion.)
3. HOW DOES IT ACT? – ITS REACTIONS - Due to its structure, the ozone molecule has a high oxidant power, this means it has a strong reaction with other chemical components.
- It is especially its high oxidant reaction that gives it the possibility to destroy all molecules with double combination.
- Microbicide effect: Ozone is one of the most effective and the fastest microbicide agent that we know. It is highly effective against the bactery- virus elimination.
4. OZONE PRODUCTION - Ozone occurs by the natural way in the high atmospheric layers, due to the ultra violet rays coming from sun light on the oxygen molecules.
- The artificial ozone generator is produced by electrical discharges of high voltage (2000 V) on the oxygen molecules existing in the air.
5. DISINFECTION BY OZONE. - The ozone is the highest oxidant gas. In fact, it totally destroys all the molecules around it, reaching a perfect disinfection and reducing the contamination risk by disease.
